Richard Wagner-200th BIrth Anniversary(2013)

Richard (Wilhelm) Wagner(1813-1883), German operatic composer, born in Leipzig on May 22, 1813; died in Venice on February 13, 1883. The year 2013 marks his bicentennial birth anniversary. Wagner composed some orchestral music, but his works are mainly operas(dramatic)-they are: Die Feen, Das Liebesverbot, Reinzi, Der fliegende Hollander, Tannhauser, Lohengrin, Tristan und Isolde, Der Meistersinger von Nurnberg, Der Ring des Nibelungen(Siegfried, Die Walkure, Das Rheingold, Gotterdammerung), and Parsifal.  They are all still very popular today.
During 2013-2014, the following 28 countries have issued commemorative stamps, souvenir sheets as well as special post marks to celebrate this special occasion(his 200th Birth Anniversary).
